In the last few days, we've had some memorable conversations with our sweet little Nathan.
This past week, his class had learned about the story of the Loaves and Fishes. They had brought home a paper basket with the bread and fish in it... Here's our conversation.
Mom: Hey bud - what's this?
Nathan: It's a basket. I got it in chapel.
M: What's in it?
N: Loaves and Fishes!
M: Really? Can you tell me what you learned about it in chapel?
N: There are five loaves and 2 fish and he was able to feed a THOUSAND!
M: Wow! That is so cool! Who is "he"?
N: Some kid...
M: Was his name Jesus?
Long Pause with his back turned to me...and then turned back..
N: No - that wasn't him - it was just some kid!
Today we celebrated Valentine's with little surprises thoughout the day. Nathan had not opened his Valentines from school yet so we did it after breakfast. While opening, he saw that he had given himself one of his ScoobyDoo valentines and he thought it was funny that he had done that. Later on that evening, after dinner and dessert where we gave him some Star Wars Valentine Candy and a Special Cookie, we asked what his favorite part of the day was...was it the cookie, the special candy, the dinner?
..."I liked that I gave myself a ScoobyDoo Valentine! Ha! Ha!!" ....What a kid!
